Costs and Financing
Costs
Universitätsverlag Potsdam will invoice the costs for typesetting, the gross costs for printing the first edition plus a publishing fee of 30€. The number of copies of the first edition consists of the author's copies plus 30 mandatory copies for the publisher.
50 % of the revenue goes to Potsdam University, whereas the other 50 % go to Universitätsverlag Potsdam and will be used to finance reprints to ensure long-term availability in the book trade.
The printing costs depend on the overall number of copies of the first edition, the amount of pages, the amount of coloured pages as well as the paper quality.
Financing
Usually, publications are financed through university budgets or third-party funds or by the author him- or herself.
Funding
Organizations, such as DFG, VG Wort, PoGS (Potsdam Graduate School) etc. provide printing subsidies/funds if defined funding criteria are met. For more information, please refer directly to your faculty or research department.
