Mehlmann Collection Project

In 1995, Prof. Dr. Karl E. Grözinger at the Chair of Religious Studies managed to acquire, with financial support from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, a  collection of Hebraica comprising approximately 1,500 volumes from the Jerusalem-based scholar Dr. Israel Mehlmann (1900–1989). A further portion of this collection, the Israel Mehlman Collection, is part of the Israeli National Library.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) supported the professional incorporation of these special Hebrew holdings.
