Judaica Union Catalogue
In 2007, the Berlin-Brandenburg Judaica Union Catalogue was made accessible to the public by the Judaica Network, together with the Regional Library Network Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV). Network members list their holdings in this catalogue.
A technical makeover of the old KOBV portal opened up new opportunities for representing network member libraries in the portal. Today, the holdings of those libraries make up an integral component of the KOBV portal and can be selected via the Virtual Catalogue. Judaica holdings are thus presented in the overall context of the portal.
While the holdings are listed in the KOBV portal, a new Judaica portal is being developed. The KOBV’s Albert Discovery System is used in this context, which allows not just the presentation of the holdings of regional libraries (as it has been the case up to now). It also allows the integration of many other sources.
The most important and only database specialised in Judaica, the Israeli National Library’s RAMBI database, is integrated into the catalogue. In order to simplify research in online resources, the manifold sources are indexed. By now, the digitized Judaica holdings of the Frankfurt am Main University Library have been added. More sources will follow gradually.
